About Us

Our History

The Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield has been serving the Fairfield Community for over 50 years!

Through our sponsorship of various social and personal enrichment programs for women and children, as well as the presentation of fun, family-oriented fundraisers – such as Touch-a-Truck and “A Visit to Santa’s House”, the Fairfield JWC is well established as a respected community group.

Through the years, the Fairfield JWC has donated more than $400,000 to dozens of local groups through its C.A.R.E Program, most recently to King’s Pantry. In addition, the Fairfield JWC awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors through its Scholarship Program.

Open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns, the JWC is a non-profit organization that gives members the chance to make new friends while giving back to the greater community.

Our CARE Partnership

CARE stands for “C”onsideration “A”nd “R”espect for “E”veryone

The JWC CARE Partnership was created so that the JWC and its members could build meaningful connections with charitable organizations for a significant period of time and assist these organization to fulfill and meet their mission and goals.  Each year, the JWC looks for a partner with which we can form an integral relationship, partnering on causes, events and activities over the course of the year.  The year-long partnership is culminated with the awarding of a monetary donation consisting of funds raised through the JWC’s annual holiday event, A Visit to Santa’s House.

The JWC CARE Committee is responsible for selecting the club’s charitable partner for the year and for liasing with the charity partner throughout the year on the organization’s projects and activities.

JWC Activities

Major Fundraisers Annual "A Visit to Santa's House" - Historic Burr Homestead is transformed into Santa's own house each year during the holidays, allowing young guests the opportunity to meet Santa, share a cookie with Mrs. Claus, sing holiday carols and more!  Proceeds from this event go to our charitable partner which we select as a club each year.

Touch-a-Truck - A hands-on activity for kids and parents (all ages) to experience their favorite trucks by climbing into the driver's seat, honking the horn and pretending to steer!  Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the club's high school scholarship program.

Town Spelling Bee - Classroom winners from Fairfield's 5th grades compete in an annual town Spelling Bee!

Various Community Service Events

Grants & Scholarships CARE Partnership - Each year, the JWC chooses a local non-profit organization as a partner to receive the proceeds from our largest fundraiser - "A Visit to

Santa's House" - and to coordinate non-monetary activities throughout the year that directly benefit the charity's clients.

Scholarship Program - The JWC has awarded over $75,000 in scholarships since 1992.  To qualify, high school students must have a GPA of 3.4 or higher, demonstrate a financial need and a record of community service.
